Welcome to my website. I'm Frederik, a mechanical engineering PhD with a strong interest in sustainability and technologies that can help mitigate climate change. I'm currently an engineer at Boston Metal working on modeling our molten oxide electrolysis process for green steel production. Previously, I was an R&D engineer at Infinite Cooling and before that a postdoctoral research associate at Boston University working on interfacial fluid mechanics in Jacy Bird's group. My research focused on small-scale flows involving bubbles, drops, jets, and films relevant to industry and environmental processes. Before coming to BU, I studied Physics and Math at Williams College, got my Ph.D. in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University in Craig Arnold's group, and worked at Exa Corporation (since acquired by Dassault Systemes).

I have a bunch of other interests including ultimate Frisbee, biking, hiking, art (painting and photography especially), native plant gardening, 3D printing, and coding interactive math and physics-based programs.
